Anforderungen
- Master's degree, PhD, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Applied Physics, or related field
- Relational databases and SQL experience
- Web application development experience (Oracle APEX, PHP, JavaScript, client-oriented APIs)
- Monitoring data quality and consistency
- Engineering equipment, scientific infrastructure, or large-scale technical installations experience
- Ability to develop dashboards and application features
- Proactive process and application functionality improvement
- Familiarity with CMS Experimental and upgrade program (advantageous)
- Bridging operational activities with IT systems and CERN asset management procedures
- Database and/or data mining architectures and technologies knowledge
- User experience and interface conceptualization, design, and development
- Decommissioning and disposal of detector components and systems
- Application software development
- Defining clear objectives, milestones, and deliverables before initiating work/project
- Building and maintaining constructive and effective work relationships
- Appropriate documentation of information, procedures, and decisions
- Breaking down complex problems into manageable components
- Proposing improvements to existing procedures, processes, and methodologies
- Spoken and written English or French, commitment to learn the other language
Aufgaben
- Record equipment installed or removed during CMS Long Shutdown 3 in the EMdb
- Synchronize the EMdb with physical equipment installation and decommissioning
- Act as the interface between field inventory activities and the EMdb
- Ensure accurate reflection of equipment installations, removals, and modifications in the system
- Maintain, support, and enhance the EMdb and its applications
- Develop new features, dashboards, and visualization tools for equipment traceability, data quality monitoring, and reporting
- Drive continuous improvements to the usability, functionality, and efficiency of the EMdb
- Streamline the registration and management of equipment, cables, and other assets
- Enhance data management and asset traceability across the CMS experiment
- Support field work to ensure smooth operational aspects of asset installation
- Ensure coherence between installed equipment and services and the database inventory
- Collaborate with the CERN Enterprise Asset Management service
- Ensure inter-operationality of processes within the CERN-wide infrastructure and applications
- Prepare documentation and labeling for services installation campaigns
- Ensure equipment can be accurately identified, tracked, and managed throughout its lifecycle
