- Set research agenda on consequential AI questions
- Develop policy proposals on data access and privacy-preserving AI
- Ensure AI systems are transparent, competitive, and rights-respecting
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to align research and policy
- Identify public-interest opportunities for OpenMined's protocols
- Manage and lead the policy and research team
- Communicate policy positions publicly
- Build relationships with policymakers and civil society
- Represent OpenMined at major AI governance forums
