In this role, you will design and develop mechanical components for high-temperature superconducting systems, ensuring quality and compliance while collaborating with suppliers and participating in prototype assembly.

Anforderungen

• •Experience in the design of mechanical systems and components
• •Knowledge of mechanical properties of materials and manufacturing or fabrication technologies
• •Experience producing 2D technical drawings in compliance with ISO dimensioning and tolerancing standards
• •Ability to analyse and solve basic mechanical engineering problems using strength-of-materials principles
• •Experience preparing clear technical reports and engineering documentation
• •Initial experience with precise mechanical assembly of components
• •Proficiency with CAD software (preferably CATIA V5)
• •Familiarity with mechanical calculation and analysis tools
• •Understanding of mechanical fabrication and assembly techniques
• •Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• •Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and international team
• •Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French
• •Nationality of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
• •Maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical engineering or a related field
• •No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract
• •University degree required
• •PhD not eligible

Aufgaben

• •Design mechanical components for HTS cables and magnets
• •Create detailed manufacturing drawings using CATIA V5
• •Prepare and maintain technical documentation
• •Verify manufacturing drawings for compliance with standards
• •Follow up on the manufacturing of mechanical parts
• •Liaise with workshops and suppliers
• •Participate in the assembly of HTS prototypes
• •Contribute to the mechanical integration of prototypes
