- Practical knowledge of laboratory equipment and DAQ systems
- Ability to work in international, multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of C++ and Python programming languages
- Spoken and written English, commitment to learn French
- National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
- Master's degree with 2-6 years post-graduation experience OR PhD with <=3 years post-graduation experience
- Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
Aufgaben
- Contribute to SpaCal technology development
- Optimise SpaCal technology for LHCb PicoCal
- Participate in SpaCal prototype testing
- Optimise SpaCal time resolution
- Study photon detectors for SpaCal
- Characterise radiation-hard scintillating fibres
- Characterise organic scintillating materials
- Document results in scientific publications
