Anforderungen
- Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Extensive Java development experience with Spring ecosystem
- Solid knowledge of big-data technologies (Hadoop, HDFS, Apache Ozone, HBase, ClickHouse, Apache Spark, Kafka)
- Working knowledge of Python (SDK development, PySpark)
- Proven experience with modern software engineering practices (quality assurance, CI/CD, DevOps)
- Experience in design, deployment, and operation of complex, high-availability systems
- Knowledge of programming techniques and languages (Java, Python)
- Architecture and design of ICT systems
- Identification and selection of relevant emerging ICT technologies
- Conceptualizing, designing, and developing user experiences and interfaces
- Design of databases/repositories
- Pragmatic problem-solving approach, valuing generic technical solutions
- Optimistic and constructive attitude in team environments
- Quick and resourceful adaptation to shifting priorities
- Defining clear objectives, milestones, and deliverables before initiating work

- Drive evolution of the CERN Accelerator Archival system (NXCALS)
- Design core system components
- Develop ingestion pipelines (ETL)
- Develop metadata services
- Develop data compaction mechanisms
- Develop data extraction algorithms
- Develop APIs
- Collaborate with user communities
- Define best practices for NXCALS use
- Promote best practices for NXCALS use
- Work with CERN IT department
- Select underlying storage technologies
- Validate underlying storage technologies
- Contribute to system operation
- Contribute to system maintenance
- Contribute to user support
- Monitor big-data technologies
- Assess applicability of big-data technologies
- Mentor junior software engineers
- Technically support junior software engineers
- Contribute to other Controls data engineering platforms
