In this role, you will take charge of the German accounting operations while leading the global Accounts Payable function. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing financial closings, collaborating with auditors, and supporting a major ERP migration, all aimed at enhancing internal accounting capabilities.

Anforderungen

• •Fluency in German and English
• •Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or certified accountant qualification
• •7+ years of professional accounting experience
• •Strong technical expertise in HGB and working knowledge of IFRS
• •Proven track record in monthly/annual closing, audit preparation, and Accounts Payable management
• •Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, or Oracle
• •Ability to design, document, and improve accounting workflows
• •Fluency in German and English for daily collaboration
• •Hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive working style
• •Experience in a startup or small-to-medium-sized company
• •Prior exposure to group reporting, consolidation, or intercompany transactions
• •Background in public accounting (Big Four) and industry roles
• •Familiarity with audit readiness and VAT topics in Germany
• •Participation in an ERP implementation project, especially NetSuite
• •Ability to work across time zones and collaborate with U.S. finance counterparts

Aufgaben

• •Manage the German GmbH books
• •Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closings under HGB
• •Apply working knowledge of IFRS for group reporting
• •Lead the global Accounts Payable (AP) function
• •Onboard vendors and validate invoices
• •Ensure payment accuracy and maintain end-to-end documentation
• •Reduce reliance on external accounting firms by internalizing key processes
• •Collaborate with auditors and tax advisors for audit readiness
• •Design and implement standardized global AP procedures
• •Enhance efficiency and transparency across all entities
• •Work with U.S. and German Finance teams on intercompany transactions
• •Conduct reconciliations and consolidation efforts
• •Support ERP migration to NetSuite by mapping workflows
• •Migrate data and test new integrations
• •Create clear process documentation and internal controls
• •Prepare reports, reconciliations, and insights for management and auditors
