Anforderungen

  • Bachelor's or Master's in engineering, robotics, mechatronics, computer science, bioengineering, or related field
  • Generalist maker with interest in building, disassembling, and troubleshooting software, electronics, and mechanics
  • Self-starter, proactive and independent
  • Solid software skills: Python, driver development, code structure, API integration, Git, debugging
  • AI-native, proficient with coding agents like Claude Code for faster software development
  • Organized and reliable with good note-taking habits
  • Genuine interest in biology and its application in robotics experiments
  • Bonus: Maker/hacker experience (3D printing, CAD, electronics, soldering, microcontrollers, machining, robotics, lab automation)
  • Bonus: Open-source project contribution (PyLabRobot, PyHamilton, Opentrons, etc.)

Aufgaben

  • Build and run automated liquid-handling protocols
  • Support work-cell operation and maintenance
  • Load runs, swap consumables, calibrate instruments
  • Troubleshoot jams and misreads
  • Write Python software for instrument control
  • Develop integrations and tooling for LabOS
  • Reverse-engineer instrument communication
  • Capture traffic with Wireshark or USB/serial sniffer
  • Test new protocols and instruments
  • Record and flag anomalies
  • Document protocols and work-cell layouts
  • Organize the work cell
  • Prep plates and reagents for automated runs
